The short answer
We roof Du Quoin, Illinois about twenty-five miles north of Carbondale on US-51. The inspection and written estimate are free, and a live person answers 24/7 at (618) 549-0800, and the roofers are John Beal employees rather than storm-season subcontractors.
Du Quoin has the state fairgrounds, a solid stock of early- and mid-century homes, and the flat open country of Perry County around it. Flat and open means wind, and the older housing means roofs with layers, brittle mats and flashing details that were done in a different era.
What we see on Du Quoin roofs
- Early- and mid-century homes with multiple shingle layers
- Exposed, flat terrain that gives straight-line wind a long run
- Chimney and sidewall flashing that was caulked rather than properly stepped
- Agricultural and outbuilding roofs alongside residential work
Every inspection here is written for the house in front of us. We document the roof in photos, put the estimate in writing, and tell you honestly when it still has life left.
